A wonderful take on Beauty and the Beast. The enchanted island and all its’ inhabitants tug at your heart throughout the story. All the people are turned into animals, not just those who work for the cursed Aerie-Smith. The interesting twist is that Naef is enchanted upon arrival into the beauty of the story since he was not a beauty in reality. All other visitors to the island are unaffected by the enchantment. This love story follows the fairy tale, and is a sweet read. It took me a bit to understand the title, but it finally makes sense about halfway through the book. I generally love Amy Lane’s stories, and I am not disappointed with this one. An added bonus is this is a library book.
